Photoluminescent Pigment For Resin/Epoxy


Photoluminescent resin, also known as glow in the dark resin, is formulated with photoluminescent pigments, binders and various additives. Our photoluminescent pigment is non-radioactive, non-toxic,very weatherproof, very chemically stable and with a long shelf life of 15 years. After absorbing light for 10-30 minutes, it can continue to emit light for 12 hours in the dark, and the process of light absorption and light emission can be infinitely cycled. Photoluminescent resin be used for low-level emergency lighting, signage and markings, and decorations.  


Photoluminescent pigment produced by MINHUI is classified into A, B, C, D, E, etc. according to the particle size. In a broad sense, all sizes can be used for making glow in the dark resin. However, to acheive the optimal result, we should select suitable size according to the actual process and final products. For example, for casting of resin, we recommend our photoluminescent pigment fo class B or class C. For coating, we recommend pigment of class C or D. For spraying, we recommend pigment of class D or E. MHG (yellow-green) and MHB(blue-green), which are strontium aluminate doped with rare earth, are two kind of photoluminescent pigment with the brightest glow color, thus will make great glow in the dark resin. If the resin is water-based or the final product may be exposed to humid environment for a long time, we recommend choosing our MH-**W series, the waterproof photoluminescent pigments. Nonwaterproof pholuminescent pigments will be slowly hydrolyzed when soaked in water for a long time, and gradually lose their luminescent properties. MH serie's photoluminescent pigment meets the US requirement of ASTM F963-16 (Standard Consumer Safety Specification on Toy Safety), Test Method CPSC-CH-E1003-09.1 for total Lead, and  ASTM F 963-16 (Clause 8.3) for soluable heavy metal; and registered for EU REACH standard in accordance with the REACH regulation (EC) No 1907/2006.   


Photoluminecent pigment can be mixed with resin, paint, plastic, glass, ink, nail polish, rubber, silicone, glue, powder coating and ceramics to make their glow in the dark version. It has been widely applied to fire-fighting safety signs, fishing tool, craftworks, jewelry, watches, textiles, toys and gifts, and so on. Below is our brief introduction on how to make glow in the dark resin. 1. Our photoluminescent pigment used is a kind of weak alkaline substances, so it is better to select the resin to be neutral or weakly alkaline. The resin that bonds the pigments together should have good light transmittance and no covering power, therefore should be transparent or light-colored. 2. You can select these kinds of resin or varnish: epoxy resin, polyurethane resin (or varnish), amino varnish, polyester resin (or varnish), acrylic resin (or varnish), hydroxyl acrylic resin, acrylic polyurethane varnish (two-component) , Light-colored alkyd varnish, fluorocarbon paint, etc. 3. Dosage of photoluminescent pigment: The amount of pigment can be adjusted according to the required luminous brightness and luminous time. The recommended ratio is 20-50% (weight ratio).
